Dear Families,
as you know we're scrambling to get ready for this class now that 5-6th grade is back on board, yeah! For class, please have a subject notebook or composition book to take notes, loose leaf paper for homework, and a large box for a year long craft project.
OCEAN BOX PROJECT: you will need a cardboard box preferrably bigger than a shoe box by the end of Week 2. All year long the students will make figurines of the animals we will study, so the size of a file box would be great. It can be a plastic bin if you wish. You will need to cover this box with either blue paint or blue construction paper on the inside to simulate the underwater environment.
To make the creatures, please get a sculpting clay of your choice that will allow the creatures to keep their shape all year; Play-Do gets moldy.
