I was a little disappointed today that no one did the Try This experiment p 32 to be able to discuss it orally. This was clearly mentioned on the previous blog.
Several students need to catch up on work. I haven't been grading the notes/vocab words, but since they aren't always getting done I guess I will have to starting Lesson 3.
The students were interested in whaling, so please find internet sites appropriate to your family's comfort level with this topic.
LEVEL A
Complete your lapbook list of whales, with 4-5 facts/characteristics about each one. You should put Narwhals and Sperm Whales to finish with the Toothed Whales. Then list the Baleen Whales: Blue, Humpback, Gray, and Right. You should have a total of 10 whales with facts and pictures. Glue a picture of each whale type one per page ie glue a dolphin picture on the page listing dolphin characteristics. You can do 3 whales Wed., and 3 more Thur. unless you need to catch up. Be neat! Hand in your lapbooks Friday for a grade.
DO THE TRY THIS EXPERIMENT PAGE 32 AND BE PREPARED TO EXPLAIN IT ORALLY.
Finish reading the lesson to p39 with vocab in your notebooks.
Research history of whaling and if any type is still legally hunted today. Write 1/2 -1 page paper DUE TUESDAY THE 11TH. Don't forget crossword puzzles are due Friday.
LEVEL B
Same as level A, but write a paper about whaling 1- 1 1/2 pages.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK, SEE YOU FRIDAY!
