HOMEWORK FOR TUES THE 4TH

We missed Allie and J.T today!
We reviewed the homework notes on Dolphins, Porpoises, Killer Whales, and Beluga Whales. Although I did not tell you specifically to do the "Try This" p 32, I would like you to. It requires a freezer and we cannot do it in class. You don't need to do a write up but be prepared to explain orally what you do.
In class we were able to read and take notes on Narwhals and Sperm Whales.
LEVEL A & B
start on your crossword puzzle - this is DUE FRIDAY OCT 7TH. You should know 1/2 the vocabulary already, so please start on it.
Read and take notes on p33-36. This is not too long to allow Allie and JT to catch up.
***In your Lapbooks***
At the top of a new page put Toothed Whales. Then list the following one per page: dolphins, porpoises, killer whales, and beluga whales. If you want to work ahead you can do Narwhals and Sperm Whales also. Then list characteristics as bullet points so it looks like this
Dolphins
        - playful, intelligent
        - swim in pods or large pods called herds
        - great hunters, hunt in packs
        - they porpoise or make low leaps out of the water
        - most commonly seen, near warmer Atlantic waters
Leave room for a picture downloaded from the internet or a drawing.
The next page should say Toothed Whales, Porpoises with its characteristics. We will have one page per whale type in this lesson. Don't forget nicknames such as Belugas are also called Sea Canaries. These names would make excellent test questions.
Don't forget the Echolocation paragraph due Tuesday. Have a great weekend.
