Today we reviewed how to properly fill out a Scientific Speculation Worksheet. It needs to have enough specific detail for someone to use it and redo the experiment on their own. The materials list needs to be complete and the Procedure needs step by step instructions. This should help with future write ups. We had good discussion on echolocation and why sound travels better in the water than in air. Ask your child to explain it to you. It would be a good test question.
Whenever the students read, they should always take notes on vocabulary. Some had words missing which I mentioned in the notebooks. We read p29 in class. Please make sure you have the vocabulary word Herd in your notes.
LEVEL A Read and take notes p29-32. Research Echolocation listing different animals that use it. Write 1/2 -1 typed page paper DUE TUES OCT 4.
LEVEL B Do Level A work, plus write paragraph comparing/contrasting Dolphins and Porpoises, due Friday the 30th. Use the internet for research but avoid Wikipidia.
